Mrs Catherine Ong was a passionate advocate for Peranakan heritage preservation in Singapore. Mrs Lim Mei Lin was the heart and soul of her family. A retired primary school teacher at St. Margaret Primary School, she taught over 2,000 children across three decades. Her home in Tampines was always open — filled with the aroma of her famous pineapple tarts and love. She believed education was the greatest gift, and quietly sponsored three underprivileged students through university. Her kindness rippled through generations.

Mr Tan Ah Kow was a devoted husband, father of three, and grandfather of seven. Born in Chinatown Singapore, he spent 42 years as a master carpenter building homes across the island. Known for his quiet wisdom and generous spirit, he would always offer a helping hand to neighbours in need. He loved his morning kopi at the kopitiam, reading Lianhe Zaobao, and tending to his orchid garden. His legacy lives on in every home he built and every life he touched.
